President Biden, Thank You for Designating Castner Range a National Monument

Castner Range is home to 6,672 acres of West Texas beauty and has historical significance that dates back thousands of years. It tells the story of how our region became the world’s largest binational community. Now it is permanently protected as a monument.

Castner Range is currently closed to the public. To view Castner Range, go to the Museum of Archeology.

March 23rd was the one-year anniversary of the designation of El Paso’s Castner Range as a National Monument.

This second year is a good time to reflect on the progress we've made and the journey that lies ahead. Your steadfast support over the years  has been instrumental in achieving this milestone; looking forward, your continued commitment is vital to the preservation and enhancement of this cherished landscape.

In commemorating this significant anniversary, I am reminded of the collective effort and dedication that brought about the protection of the Castner Range in the first place. Your own advocacy, passion, and generosity have clearly played a crucial role in safeguarding this pristine wilderness for future generations to enjoy and cherish. As we celebrate the achievement of the National Monument, I invite you to join us in honoring it and renewing the commitment to its conservation by making a gift for Castner Range National Monument programing!

Your ongoing support is essential as we embark on the next stage of our journey which includes:

 1.    Education Materials: Your contribution will help us produce informative materials aimed at educating the community, locally and nationally, about the ecological significance and cultural heritage of the Castner Range National Monument. These materials will serve as valuable resources for raising awareness and promoting responsible stewardship of this unique landscape.

 2.    Junior Explorer Program at Castner Range: By supporting our Junior Explorer Program, you can inspire and empower young minds to connect with nature and learn about the importance of conservation. Your donation will provide educational materials and hands-on experiences that foster a deeper appreciation for the biodiversity and history of the Castner Range.

 3.    Marketing Castner Range: Help us amplify our conservation message by contributing to the creation of social media that showcase the beauty and the ecological value of the Castner Range National Monument. This outreach will provide powerful tools for advocacy, raising public awareness and garnering support for the ongoing protection and preservation of this natural treasure.

In addition to supporting these initiatives, I encourage you to visit—at El Paso’s Museum of Archaeology—the outdoor signs and the indoor exhibits that commemorate the Castner Range National Monument. The signs and the exhibits offer a glimpse into the rich biodiversity and cultural heritage of the area, highlighting the importance of our collective efforts in conserving this irreplaceable landscape. In addition, starting July 19 to August 17 Frontera is hosting a Castner Range art show at the International Museum of Art. Make sure not to miss the Family Day, Sunday, August 4, from 2-4 p.m., which will offer many hands-on activities for the family to enjoy.

Thank you for your unwavering dedication to the protection and preservation of the Castner Range National Monument. Your commitment is truly appreciated ; it serves as a beacon of hope for the future of our natural heritage.
