Friends of the Rio Bosque Support

The Friends of the Rio Bosque, a 373-acre wetlands park that conserves sections of the Rio Grande’s original riparian habitat, strongly urge President Obama to permanently protect Castner Range as a National Monument in keeping with the motto that we share with the Franklin Mountains Wilderness Coalition: “From the Mountains to the River.” Castner Range plays a critical role in El Paso’s monsoon-season run-off, conserving water that would otherwise be wasted if the land were developed.
